40K: Vehicular Markings: Glyphs

These are some of the different markings I'm going to use to differentiate between transports, when I actually get around to starting an army.

1s are straight lines, 0s are dots. "."s are spacers, and "-"s are to separate symbols

  1. Intriguing. Markings are a fun part of creating a force, designing an original system especially. Does this mean you've narrowed down the choice of army?

  2. I think so. It's probably, at this point, between Necrons, Chaos Space Marine, Orks, or one of the Eldar.

  3. I can get excited about all of those, and almost every faction in the game in fact.

Very often though the official take doesn't quite mesh with my preferred approach, and the restrictions of the force organisation chart can make the whole thing much less fun.

Have a look at Von's thinking - he's pondering three of the same as you here.

  4. Of course, it just got more complicated. I swung by the FLGS yesterday, and noticed that they seem to have a copy of the Tyranid codex now. And, of course, that would be perfect for one of my own, (formerly) completely unrelated creations. Still, the others are also options. And there's no reason I can't do more than one, if I'm going to be making the models for one of them...

  5. Right on. Tyranids have always been a favourite of mine. I love the mystery in the concept, and the scope for the truly alien and extragalactic. I'd also go the heavy conversion or even scratchbuild route if I put together a force now.

  6. Yep. I might have pics of the concept models for them up soon, so that should be interesting. What would yours look like, and what's their back story?
